Located in the centre of Europe, Budapest is one of the easiest travel destinations. Many airlines provide direct or 1-stop tickets from North America and Asia to the Budapest Ferihegy Airport (BUD). Low cost airlines offer very cheap tickets from Europe’s biggest cities and capitals. (As low as 70 USD return from Rome, Madrid, Paris, London, etc…)
From the airport, you can take 100E public bus directly to Deak Ferenc Square Station, which is the central area and where the contest venue is located, Akvarium Klub. The ride is about 30 minutes. The bus costs 900 HUF for a single ride and you can use credit/debit cards to buy your ticket. Alternatively you can take the taxi or a shuttle bus.
Easy access for yoyo communities from the nearby countries (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Germany). Budapest is within a 3 - 6 hours travel distance by train or drive from these surrounding nations.
Hungary is part of the Schengen Area that is comprised of 26 countries who agreed to allow free movement of their citizens within this area as a single country. Visa-free entry to residents of many non-EU countries is possible including USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia.
